"Biblical Balloon Art Photography" by Paul Graves

Photographer Paul Graves has given a modern art twist to a classical biblical story; he created a balloon-filled ‘Garden of Eden.’ In Graves’ balloon art photos of ‘Adam and Eve’, the bark of the ‘Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil’ was formed with dark and tan balloons; the leaves from dark and light green ones; and the forbidden fruit (which is assumed to be an apple) is deep red.  Paul Graves’ balloon serpent looks quite ominous with long fangs and a dark red mouth as he temps Eve, who is wearing... A fine peachbloom washer. Mark and period of Kangxi delicately potted of compressed circular form, supported on a shallow tapering foot, the incurved, rounded sides covered with a fine 'mottled peach' red glaze with areas of white and pale lime green flecks, the interior left white and unusually, the character wen inscribed in underglaze-blue by the footrim, the base further inscribed with a six-character reign mark in underglaze blue. 11.5 cm., 4 1/4 in. The J. Paul Getty Museum has just acquired nine works by acclaimed chinese artists Wang Qingsong and Hai Bo
