Five blanc de chine figures. Qing dynasty, 17th-18th century

comprising a figure of Damo, dressed in loose-fitting robes, standing on swirling waves, a figure of Zhenwu, seated in a horseshoe-shaped chair draped in an animal skin, a figure of a Buddhist acolyte, seated holding a fly whisk, and two figures of Guanyin, both seated, the smaller figure holding a ruyi sceptre, impressed mark. Est. 3,000—5,000 GBP

PROVENANCE: The acolyte figure, Roger Keverne Summer Exhibition, 1999; the larger Guanyin  figure, Robert McPherson; the smaller Guanyin figure, Sotheby's London, 13th November 2003, lot 374.
