A large celadon-glazed dish. Early Ming Dynasty
The robustly-potted body with lobed gently rounded sides rising to a barbed rim, finely incised at the centre with a single lotus flower, the lobed sides with repeated lotus medallion and a classic scroll at the rim, covered overall in a sea-green glaze except for an unglazed ring on the base burnt russet in the firing. 39.6cm (15in) diam. Sold for £3,600
