A pale green jade and wood table screen, 17th/18th century

The large oval openwork jade plaque finely carved with a full-face dragon grasping the flaming pearl amidst a dense foliate scroll with lotus blossoms, the stone of pale green tone with minor inclusions, inset within a wood screen carved with four bats amidst cloud scrolls above a panel with two stylised dragons flanking an agate stone. The jade plaque 15cm (5¾in) wide, overall 30.7cm (12in) high.. Sold for £9,000
