Parcel-gilt silver bowl with an inside and outside decor. China, Tang Dynasty (AD.618- 907)

the interior shows a medaillon decorated en repoussé with a crouching deer surrounded by three floral cartouches and a circle of flower petals; the outside of the bowl, as well as the base ,are decorated with finely incised and gilded designs of flowers and palmates surrounding two couples of mandarin-ducks on a finely executed ground of ring-matting background. The outside and inside rims of the bowl as well as the foot are circled by a strip of lotus flowers petals. Height : 5.70 cm. Diameter : 17.60 cm. Weight 686.00 Gram - Price on application.
