The upper section of the pieced robe woven with a quatrefoil reserve filled with two opposing four-clawed dragons at front and back striding toward a flaming pearl beneath a narrow lishui border, the motif woven in polychrome silk threads and repeated in the woven band to the pleated skirt and matching rectangle sewn with other pieces that comprise the two long sleeves; 48 1/2in (123cm) long. The frontally facing dragon and the flaming pearl worked in gilt wrapped threads while the surrounding clouds and lishui band beneath display polychrome threads with some outlines in gilt-wrapped threads; 11 1/2 X 12in (29.5 x 30.5cm) each. Estimate: US$3,000 - 5,000
