A rare famille rose 'Pompadour'-pattern pot-pourri jar and cover. Qianlong period, circa 1745 Of squat pear shape with slightly waisted flaring upper section pierced with four apertures and gently rounded body, surmounted by a shallow domed cover pierced witgh a further eight apertures, the squat finial painted with iron-red overlapping petals and pierced with a larger aperture at the top, brightly enamelled en suite to lot 186. 7 3/8 in. A pair of rare famille rose 'Pompadour'-pattern tureens and covers. Qianlong period, circa 1745 Each of deep circular form with domed covers and a raised chrysanthemum bud finial, brightly enamelled on the sides and top with four foliate cartouches alternately enclosing an eagle and a fish, amongst bold floral sprays depicting varieties of poppies and smaller daisies and berries, within a narrow chain-pattern border at the rims, the finials encircled by radiating, overlapping, iron-red chrysanthemum petals, repeated on the...
