Lacquered cabinet. English. Circa 1690. An extremely rare red and white lacquered cabinet on original silver gilt stand. With two cupboard doors decorated with chinoiserie figures and foliage and variously shaped panels decorated en grisaille with landscapes and figures mounted with shaped, pierced and engraved lock-plate, hinges and angles enclosing ten various-sized drawers similarly decorated with chinoiserie figures and scenes, vases of flowers, foliage and utensils, the original silver gilt stand with deep pierced frieze... A Chinese large blanc-de-Chine figure of Guanyin. First half 20th Century Modelled standing on a lotus above crested waves, wearing long robes, hands together, adorned with a necklace, bangles, bejewelled tassels suspending from underneath upper robe and diadem against the high chignon, glaze chip. 85 cm. high. A blanc-de-chine 'hunting party' figure group. Circa 1690 The hollow form moulded as a hillside with a winding trail leading to a pavilion amidst pine trees and grottoes, with two hunters aiming their rifles at a deer, followed behind by a horseman holding a whip and an attendant bearing a flag all working their way up the hillside with their hunting dogs. 20.2cm (8in) high.
