A painting from Ary Scheffer has been rediscovered in a Church in Rural Minnesota

Ary Scheffer (1795 – 1858), Christus Consolator, 1851 MINNEAPOLIS, MN.- A painting from 1851 of one of the most celebrated and reproduced religious images of the nineteenth century – Christus Consolator – has been rediscovered by Rev. Steven Olson, pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, Minnesota, and given in memory of Rev. D. J. Nordling to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA).
