Ming dyansty jade @ Bonhams. Fine Chinese Art, 13 May 2010

A pale green jade 'monkey and horse' group, Ming Dynasty. photo Bonhams Well carved in the round to depict a recumbent horse with his head turned sharply to the left over his body, looking at a small monkey clambering up his back, the stone of a greyish-green tone with brown inclusions, wood stand, fitted box. 8.2cm (3¼in) wide (3). Chinese export animals from the Private Collection of Elinor Gordon @ Sotheby's New York

A very rare Chinese export figure of a reclining stag. Second half 18th century. photo Sotheby's its coat thickly enamelled in yellow, the white enamelled spots with an incised whorl pattern, its head fitted with detachable antlers. length 8 in., 20.3 cm.
