A large blue and white porcelain jar (guan) with associated cover. Ming Dynasty, Circa 1500 Thickly potted and painted with cloud clusters to the waisted neck, a band of lotus-filled lappets at the shoulder and babao combined with leafy scrolls around the lower body, the slightly recessed base unglazed, the associated cover also displaying the lotus-filled lappet band rendered in darker cobalt pigment. 15in (38cm) height overall - Estimate: $2,500 - 4,000 A Longquan celadon jar (guan) and associated cover. The Binh Thuan Double Phoenix Plate. Ming Dynasty Swatow, first decade of the 17th century An underglaze blue and white plate from the wreck of the 'Binh Thuan' Chinese export to Southeast Asia. Diameter: 10 ½” (27cm) The plate painted with two confronting standing phoenixes, flanked by leafy trees and below a large chrysanthemum, surrounded by borders of fishscale decoration and five oval cartouches, each with two sprays of flowers and blossom.
