An Iznik polychrome dish, Turkey, circa 1570-1580 of shallow rounded form, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, viridian green and relief red, outlined in black and blue, with a central design of intersecting feathery saz leaves surrounded by sprays of hyacinth flowers, rosettes and foliate motifs throughout, the rim with a pattern of alternating triangles, the reverse with alternating paired tulips and rosettes. 32.3cm. diam. A rare Iznik blue and grey Chinoiserie dish, Turkey, circa 1560 of shallow rounded form with braketed rim, decorated in greyish-blue with a central floral medallion encircled by lotus blossoms issuing leaves and tendrils outlined in dark grey and set in a same colour boder, the cavetto decorated with a repetition of similar floral designs, rim decorated with flowers and leaves framed by dark grey boder, the reverse with alternating tulip bunches and rosettes, clean break and repair. 36cm. diam.
