Molded with a foliate edge to the canted rim and painted with a central medallion of a shrimp swimming through water weeds and surrounded by lotus-petal reserves filled with alternating auspicious emblems and flowering stalks (glaze degraded). 12in (30.5cm) diameter - Estimate: $800 - 1,200
Provenance: the 'San Diego' Cargo, excavated off the coast of the Philippines in 1991, named after the Spanish galleon attacked and sunk by the by the Dutch ship 'Mauritius' in 1600.
