A polychrome octagonal dish, Tianqi/early Chongzhen, Ming dynasty, 17th century
Painted with a lone fisherman seated on a river bank with rod and basket beneath a pine tree, the rim with a brown wash, the base with a four-character seal mark reading tian xia tai ping (universal peace) within a double square. 20cm (8in) wide. Estimate: £1,000 - 1,500
