Prized for their rich and full red color, rubies hailing from the Burmese mines rarely weigh more than 2.00 or 3.00 carats, making a jewel of this size and caliber extremely scarce and highly desirable. Those certified by the AGTA as being “No Heat,” untreated rubies are even rarer.
Note: Jean Schlumberger is one of the most respected jewelry designers in history. Born in France, he created costume jewelry for Elsa Schiaparelli before moving to New York after World War II.
