Strange lead Xiang Fu Yuan Bao with Manchu script
Strange lead Xiang Fu Yuan Bao with Manchu script
This piece of strange Xiang Fu yuan Bao lead coin is found in Java, Indonesia. The inscriptions on obverse are Xiang Fu Yuan Bao. Xiang Fu is part of a reign title from Chinese Northern Song Dynasty (AD960-1127).
Interestingly, there are 2 Manchurian scripts on reverse. Apparently like "Bao Yun", - Yunnan province mint. Manchu scripts only appear on coins from Qing Dynasty (AD1644-1911).
The handwriting is rather primitive and strange and coin is also crude. This type of coin is local imitation by Javanese used for warship or circulation.
