Robert Dodge, "Windows to Vietnam (Vietnam Unexpected)" @ Galerie Brigitte

American photographer and writer Robert Dodge explores the country that so affected his life

Robert Dodge never served in the military or had visited Vietnam before 2005. But this baby boomer believes that this faraway country had a dramatic impact on this life.

It was during the Vietnam War that Dodge was in high school and college. The intense news coverage of the war and its impact on American politics helped stir his passion for media and politics and led to his decision to become a journalist. After more than 25 years as a journalist, Dodge decided to visit the country after it reopened to foreign visitors.

As a fine arts photographer, Dodge planned his initial 2005 trip around creating images. But what was first planned as a one-time trip turned into an ongoing project. Dodge has created an impressive portfolio of awesome images that reflect his vision of Vietnam and its people. Through his exposition of images, Windows to Vietnam (Vietnam Unexpected), Dodge shares his personal photographic exploration.
