the deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an everted rim, brightly enamelled around the exterior with an undulating leafy composite floral scroll, all reserved on a rich bright yellow ground, the interior with the wufu in iron-red, the base with an underglaze blue six-character seal mark; 15 cm., 6 in. - Estimate 1,000,000—1,500,000 HKD. NOTE: Brightly enamelled with a bold and intricate design of flowers, the present bowl belongs to a group of wares that continued in the Qianlong tradition. A closely related Jiaqing bowl in the Qing Court collection, and still in Beijing, is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum. Porcelain with Cloisonné Enamel Decoration and Famille Rose Design, Hong Kong, 1999, pl. 181; another, from the British Rail Pension Fund, was sold in these rooms, 16th May 1989, lot 83; and a third example was sold in our London rooms, 14th May 2008, lot 718.
