Priestley & Ferraro. TEFAF Antiques / Stand 235.

Priestley & Ferraro specialises in early Chinese art. This embraces all of Chinese art from its beginnings in the Neolithic period up to the eve of the Ming dynasty. Within this broad field our main emphasis is on ceramics - pottery, stoneware and porcelain, though we also sell early bronzes and jades, Buddhist sculpture and other Chinese works of art. The ceramics fall broadly into three areas, which for the purposes of this web-site we are calling Song wares, pre-Song wares and pre-Song figures. The Song wares section includes all Song ceramics and porcelain, as well as related wares from the adjacent Jin dynasty and Yuan dynasty. The pre-Song wares section covers all vessels and non-figural objects, in pottery or stoneware, from the Neolithic through the Han dynasty and Tang dynasty. The pre-Song figures section includes largely Han dynasty and Tang dynasty pottery funerary figures. Our other two sections are works of art, which covers all other non-sculptural media, including amongst others lacquer, cloisonne, bronze and jade, and sculpture, mostly in stone or wood.
