Of slightly flattened rectangular form, with gently rounded shoulders rising to a cylindrical neck, resting on a short oval foot, the stone of a pale green colour mottled with tinges of white, the reverse retaining the natural orange-russet colour of the skin in an irregular leaf-like pattern, stopper. 5.8cm (2¼in) high. Note: Hu Linyi (1812 - 1861), surnom Kuangsheng ou Runzhi, d'origine de la ville Yiyang dans la province Hunan, fut un des plus important fonctionnaire de haut rang et militaire à la fin de la dynastie Qing.
Il prit le grade de jinshi par la réussite de l'examen impérial en 1836. Il contribua avec ces efforts militaires contre la révolte des Taiping. En décembre 1856, il conquit la ville de Wuchang et fut nommé Vice Roi de la province de Hubei. En 1860, il se battit dans la province Anhui et Jiangxi, et mourut à Anhui en septembre 1861 à l'âge de 50 ans.
Il fut un " poète militaire ", ses mémoires et ses lettres furent éditées sous le titre " Hu Wenzhong Gongji ".
