A rare large Blue and White 'Lotus' Guan Jar. Late Yuan-Early Ming dynasties. A 'yaozhou' 'lotus' bowl. Northern Song dynasty with gently rounded sides rising to a filet set beneath a rounded rim, the interior carved in a medallion with an open lotus blossom and a furled lotus leaf viewed in profile against a ground of scrolling foliage, covered in a light olive-green glaze, pooling in the recesses to a deeper colour. 19.1cm., 7 1/2 in. A 'Doucai' 'Lotus' Dish, Qing Dynasty, 18th Century with shallow rounded sides and slightly everted rim springing from a narrow foot, painted on the inside with a circular panel enclosing four iron-red lotus sprays encircling a larger spray in the centre, the flowers each framed by pencilled stems in underglaze blue with scroll-shaped green and blue leaves, a matching frieze of eight lotus flowers on the exterior, inscribed on the base with the four-character cai xiu tang zhi hall mark in underglaze-blue. diameter 6 1/8...
