A  painted pottery storage jar. Neolithic Period, Banshan Style Presented with a short trumpet neck and a pair of flattened loop handles just below its wide, curving shoulders, the body sharply tapering inward above a flat base, the upper surfaces painted in black and red pigments with chevron patterns and circles, some filled with crossing lines (pigment embellished). 16 1/2in (42cm) high - Estimate: $800 - 1,200 Bonhams.
